The Lounching of the Kampung English Program, Thursday 31 October 2019 was attended by the Mayor of Bontang (Mrs. Neni Moerniaeni Hasdam), PT KMI General Affairs (Mr. Ir Agus Priyatno), Head of the Manpower Service (Ahmad Hasnem), Head of Basic Education (Saparudin), Camat North Bontang and Guntung Village Head.
The English Village Program was launched at the Guntung Village Office Multipurpose Building. The English Village Program is the CSR of PT Kaltim Methanol Industri (PT.KMI), where the English Village is a special concern of PT. Kaltim Methanol Industry in increasing the role of society, both children and adults so that they are fluent in English.
In addition, PT Kaltim Methanol Industri (PT.KMI) will continue to innovate and contribute to improving human resources in Bontang City, especially in Guntung Village.
In her speech, the Mayor of Bontang, Neni Moerniaeni, who speaks mostly English, appreciated PT KMI's steps in initiating the English Village program. "Today we should be proud of, "Mr. Agus Priyatno with PT KMI who programmed the English village in Guntung Village, thank you for the CSR program, thank you for the extraordinary commitment," he said.
After the seminar, the English MGMP team held a small discussion regarding the Kampung English strategy and program launched by PT. Kaltim Methanol Industri.
Hopefully with the English Village in Guntung Village, all youth and the Guntung community in particular can actively participate in mastering English.
In giving her speech, Mrs. Neni invited the students who were present at that time to have a dialogue in English, thus triggering the invitees who were present to laugh and be amazed.
In addition to the Mayor of Bontang, Dir. General Affair PT KMI (Ir. Agus Priyatno) also gave his speech. He (Dir.GA PT.KMI) hopes that the program can be of maximum benefit to the community, especially in Guntung Village. "Hopefully this program can continue to take inventory of our younger siblings, both those who are still in junior high school, high school, local residents who have graduated from vocational and college degrees while waiting for the jobs they get can practice in English villages.
After the opening ceremony, the GLS (School Literacy Movement) book was handed over to the Mayor of Bontang and OPD officials who were present. Then a mini seminar was held in English by the winners of the English competition, namely Nadine, Cicilia from Vidatra High School and Nela currently from SMAN 1.
