The increasing number of patients exposed to Covid-19 in Bontang City has become the concern of all parties to work together with the Bontang City Government or the Covid-19 Task Force in deciding Covid-19. Likewise, PT Kaltim Methanol Industri ( PT KMI ) also participated in helping the Covid-19 Task Force in maintaining and breaking the impact of the spread of Covid-19 which has now spread to 15 urban villages in Taman City.
By donating 500 packages of vitamins and fruits as well as foodstuffs, this methanol producer is encouraged to help.
The 500 packages in the form of gifts will be given to 250 health workers in the form of supplements and vitamins and 250 packages in the form of vitamins and some basic necessities will be given to people who are in self-isolation (Isoman).
"We provide this assistance to the Bontang City Government to ease the Bontang city government to provide assistance to health workers and those who carry out Isoman," said PT KMI's GA & PR Department Manager, Muhammad Irfan to the media crew, Wednesday (14/07/2021).
Muhammad Irfan hopes and is committed to continuing to be part of breaking the chain of Covid-19 spread, especially in Bontang City. Previously, in the first quarter of the spread of Covid-19 in 2019 to 2020, his party was always present to share with the community, both through the Bontang city government and directly to the community.
Assistance in the form of masks, hand sanitizers, disinfectants to basic food assistance for people affected by Covid-19 and almost affected areas in Bontang City have been distributed previously.
"If our motivation is humanity, our motivation is sharing and it is a company program as a responsibility to the community, we will not close our eyes to this covid until when so we continue to monitor the needs that exist in the community," said Irfan.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Bontang, Basri Rase, appreciated the efforts of PT KMI. This former member of the legislature stated that the role of companies such as PT KMI was very helpful in the work of the Government, especially at this time in breaking the chain of the spread of Covid-19.
"This is one of the joint commitments of the government and companies in order to stop the spread of the Corona virus," he said.
Basri continued, this role must be carried out comprehensively by all parties. He considered that the Covid-19 pandemic could not be carried out alone but as a whole by everyone as well as stakeholders.
"It is the impact of the instructions from the Minister of Home Affairs and the Governor and us that we must think about together to ease their burden," explained Basri Rase.
In addition, on the same occasion Basri asked for understanding from all parties and the community in responding to this Emergency PPKM. He is sure if this compliance is implemented the spread of Covid-19 will not increase.
Basri hopes that Basri will refrain from crowding, wearing masks, maintaining distance and maintaining personal hygiene.
"Come on, let's no longer look for differences and mistakes, we must have one perception, we unite our strength to fight Covid and stop its spread," he concluded.
The symbolic handing over of aid at the Bontang Mayor's house was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Bontang, the Regional Secretary of Bontang City, the Head of the Bontang Health Service, and the Head of the Social Service.
