In the 2021 Nusantara CSR Awards event organized by La Tofi at the Kempinski Hotel, Jakarta on Wednesday (15/9/2021). PT Kaltim Methanol Industri (KMI) finally won an award in the health sector entitled KMI Cares for Handling Covid-19, in the category of Health and Economic Assistance (Charity) for Covid-19 Emergency Handling.
After receiving the award directly from Latofi as Chairman of The La Tofi School of CSR, GA and PR Manager from PT KMI Muhammad Irfan immediately expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders under the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkompimda) and all levels in PT KMI who have worked hand in hand in the success of the company's program.
"In Indonesia, the number of positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 continues to grow, this has encouraged PT KMI to continue to make efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19, both on a national scale and in the Bontang area, East Kalimantan (Kaltim)," said Muhammad Irfan after receiving the award.
Irfan still said that the data accessed on the covid-19go.id portal revealed that Bontang is one of the areas with a high-risk zone category with a graph of Covid-19 cases that fluctuates every month and continues to experience a spike in the increase in the number of exposed patients.
As for the role of PT KMI in efforts to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic, in the form of assistance for 25 MT of medical oxygen and 500 packages of food supplements as well as basic necessities for health workers and isoman. Which was handed over by the Deputy Plant Manager of PT KMI to all hospitals and health centers spread across Bontang Kaltim on 27 July. The assistance given was received directly by the Mayor of Bontang Basri Rase and all his staff, such as the Health Service and the Bontang City Covid-19 Task Force.
Specifically for dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak, the spatial range of contributions from the PT KMI company includes local (buffer zone), Bontang and national areas. For KMI's activities that care about handling Covid-19, what the company does in order to distribute aid and relieve affected communities in the operating area or buffer zone is to synergize with company partners, especially the PKPU Human Initiative and other stakeholders. So that assistance is right on target and directly felt by the community.
As previously known, the Nusantara CSR Awards 2021 which was held by La Tofi specifically this year were attended by 41 companies with various business backgrounds by competing in as many as 150 categories.
Besides being attended by Muhammad Irfan, the Nusantara CSR Awards 2021 award night was also attended by a number of important officials such as President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati as Pertamina's Best CSR CEO of The Year and won Best of The Best CSR of The Year, as well as President Director of PT BRI (Persero) Tbk Sunarso as CEO of CSR of The Year and won The Best CSR of The Year.
The 2021 Nusantara CSR Awards, which were also held virtually, also presented the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan who conveyed his views on CSR, Covid-19 and the future of investment. Meanwhile, the general chairman of KADIN Arsjad Rasjid also conveyed his thoughts on the theme of Indonesia rising together with collaboration.
